Practicing gratitude in our daily lives is not something that comes naturally for a lot of people. Life is busy and hectic. Work is hard. Days are long. The weather sucks. It can be hard to pull yourself out of all of that and focus on the positive that life is offering, but it is so important to do so.
Here are 4 ways to help you practice gratitude daily:
1) Start a gratitude journal. Each day take a few minutes and write down whatever you can think of to be grateful for. This could be anything. Try to think of new things everyday.
2) Say thank you. This sounds simple, but too often we get wrapped up in our own stuff to recognize the things others are doing for us. Try to say thank you often.
3) Practice and act of kindness everyday. Try to make this more than just buying the person behind you in line some coffee. Think about things that will really make an impact for someone.
4) Write a thank you letter. Think about someone (or a few people) that have made an impact in your life and send them a note thanking them for being a part of your journey.
